Billy Graham is credited with saying, “It’s the Holy Spirit’s job to convict; it’s God’s job to judge and it’s my job to love.” Rod’s primary message to men is share God’s amazing grace and mercy centered around over 140 character words promoting integrity and accountability. Integrity speaks to the wholeness of men and accountability is the path to freedom. In telling his story, Rod reminds men “God loves them and has a wonderful plan for their life and Satan hates them and has a hell of a plan for their life.” In this journey, God is not looking for perfection, He is looking for direction. Rod will challenge and encourage men with a message of hope.

Rod was the COO/CFO for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (1989-2000), as well as the Assistant State Director for Washington State (1986-99). He has shared at hundreds of chapel services for 35+ years for professional, college and high school teams, including serving as chaplain for the Kansas City Royals and Seattle SuperSonics. Rod really enjoys keynoting multiple sessions at Men’s Retreats and Iron Sharpens Iron Conferences–something he has done hundreds of times over 20+ years. In addition, Rod is the co-founder of “TGIW–Teaching God’s Infinite Wisdom.” TGIW men’s groups meet in numerous locations across America, and Rod speaks regularly at the groups in the Kansas City metro area, including the Lee’s Summit, MO location. Fees: Minimum $500 per day (non-profit & churches), $1500 per day (corporate events)–plus all travel related expenses (airline ticket or mileage reimbursement, housing, meals).

Character that Counts was established in July 2000 for the purpose of “Communicating Life Principles of Character, Integrity & Accountability.” Rod has published over 30 books including “Character Counts: Who’s Counting Yours?” Over the past 20 years, Rod averages over 250 talks a year to audiences all over the nation. Rod and his wife Janna, have been married 30 years and they have four adult children and one granddaughter. They live in Lee’s Summit, MO.
